“Who Wants to be a Millionaire”, the British based quiz game show has landed in Nepal as “Ko Banchha Crorepati”. This international game show is not a new TV program for anyone, however it’s a big challenge for 3rd world country, Nepal to bring this show. This is a very high budget television show, where it is very tough to survive from the business ads in Nepal.
We do not know what is the loop hole behind all this. But who cares right? People can make money in very short period of time by utilizing their knowledge. At least there is now a opportunity for the talented people to make money with their brain.
The interesting part of this show is all about giving a right answer and wining money on each questions. You must be a very knowledgeable human to get up to 15th question’s answer.
Nepal has started “Ko Banchha Crorepati” officially on 2nd February 2019.This program airs on AP1 TV and Actor Rajesh Hamal is hosting this show. The total prize on this show is NRs. 10,000,000, which is 10 million Nepali Rupees. It plans to air for 3 days a week. However, they have just uploaded in total of 4 episodes on Youtube.
The highest amount won so far was Eighty Thousand Rupees from Episode 3 and 4.
The Format of the Show
A group of 10 contestants on each episode play a preliminary round which is called “Fastest Finger First”. Host will give a questions with four answers, where the contestants must be placed within a particular order.

On the main game, there are total of 15 questions where it starts with NRs.1000 and the last 15th question ends with NRs. 10,000,000. 15th question will make that participants a Crorepati. Below are the group of the questions, where every group ends at safe zone. For example, if you answered 5th question correctly, you will win Rs. 10,000 and you will take that money no matter if you answer incorrectly. Same thing will happen on 10th question, you will at least win Rs. 320,000.

Lifelines are the option provided to the contestant to help themselves when they have difficulties on answering questions. Below are the following lifelines available on this show:
- 50/50: This lifeline will eliminates the two wrong answers, which left with one correct and one incorrect.
- Ask the Audience: Each audience members take their voting pad and select the correct answer for the question that they think is correct. Once the voting time has been completed, the result will be displayed in a bar graph with percentage.
- Phone a Friend: Contestant are allowed to choose one friend out of three, where they have listed. They are given only 30 seconds to provide input, with the time beginning the moment the contestant begins telling them what the question is, and the four possible answers for it. Contestant will try to get an answer as short time period as possible so that they can verify their answers again and again.
